UUID Generator

Generate random version-4 UUIDs instantly — free, private and ready to copy.

Unique identifiers are the glue of modern software: database keys, API tokens and order references all rely on values that never repeat. This free UUID generator produces version-4 UUIDs with your browser's crypto.randomUUID() engine, so every ID is a fresh 128-bit random value. Generate one or a batch of up to fifty, then copy the whole list in a click.

Each UUID is a random 128-bit value formatted as 8-4-4-4-12 hexadecimal characters.

UUID Generator — FAQs

What is a UUID and when do I need one?

A UUID is a 128-bit value written as 36 characters of hex text in an 8-4-4-4-12 pattern. Developers use them as primary keys, request IDs, session tokens and file names — anywhere a value must be unique without a central counter. Version 4 means the value is purely random, the most common choice for general-purpose identifiers.

Will these UUIDs ever repeat?

Practically never. A version-4 UUID has 122 bits of randomness, giving about 5.3 undecillion possible values. The chance of two random UUIDs colliding is so astronomically small that for everyday use — even generating millions of them — you can treat every UUID as globally unique without checking against a database.

Is the generation secure and private?

Yes. UUIDs are produced in your browser with crypto.randomUUID(), the operating system's cryptographically secure random source. Nothing leaves your device, nothing is logged, and no account is needed. The values are suitable for identifiers and non-secret tokens; for high-security secrets, a longer dedicated token format is still preferable.

Why is there a limit of 50 per batch?

Fifty UUIDs cover almost every real need — seeding test databases, generating sample keys, or creating a batch of order references — while keeping the page fast and the output easy to copy. If you need thousands of identifiers, generate several batches and concatenate the results, since every batch is independent and just as random.
