UTM Link Builder

Build clean, properly encoded UTM tracking URLs for every campaign — live as you type, free forever.

UTM parameters tell Google Analytics exactly where your traffic came from — which newsletter, ad or social post drove each visit. Enter your base URL plus source, medium and campaign name, and this builder assembles a correctly encoded tracking link in real time. Copy it and use it anywhere: emails, ads, QR codes or social bios.

Tip: use lowercase values — analytics tools treat UTM parameters as case-sensitive.

UTM Link Builder — FAQs

What do utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign mean?

These are the three required UTM parameters. Source identifies where the traffic comes from, such as google or newsletter. Medium describes the marketing channel, such as cpc, email or social. Campaign names the specific promotion, such as summer-sale-2026. Together they let analytics split your traffic by origin precisely.

Should I use uppercase or lowercase in UTM values?

Always use lowercase. Analytics treats UTM values as case-sensitive, so Email and email would show up as two separate mediums and split your reports. Stick to lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores for clean, consistent campaign data.

What are utm_term and utm_content for?

These optional parameters add extra detail. Utm_term is traditionally used for the paid-search keyword that triggered an ad, while utm_content distinguishes similar links in the same campaign — for example two different buttons in one email. Use them when you need to compare variations of the same campaign asset.

Does this tool track or store my links?

No. The URL is assembled entirely in your browser and is never sent to any server, logged or stored. Your campaign names and destination URLs stay on your device, so even confidential campaign links are safe to build here.
