Open Graph Generator β€” FAQs

What are Open Graph tags?

Open Graph is a standard created by Facebook that lets any webpage become a rich object in a social graph. The og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url tags tell Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram and others exactly what title, text and image to show when your link is shared, instead of letting them guess.

What size should my og:image be?

Use an image at least 1200 by 630 pixels for the best results on Facebook and LinkedIn; that ratio displays crisply on both desktop and mobile. Keep the file under a few megabytes so previews load fast, and always use an absolute URL starting with https:// so scrapers can fetch it.

Why is my preview image not updating after I change it?

Social platforms cache link previews, sometimes for days. After updating your tags, use Facebook's Sharing Debugger or the X Card Validator to force a fresh scrape of your page. Those tools show you exactly what the crawler sees and clear the old cached preview.

Does this tool store my URLs or images?

No. Everything happens locally in your browser β€” your titles, URLs and image links are never uploaded, saved or shared. The generated tags are built on your device, and nothing leaves it unless you paste the code somewhere yourself.
