GPA Calculator

Add your courses with credit hours and grades to get your weighted semester GPA instantly โ€” add or remove rows freely.

Your GPA is a credit-weighted average, so a four-credit course affects it far more than a one-credit course. This free GPA calculator lets you add one row per course with its grade and credit hours, then computes your weighted GPA on the standard 4.0 scale with an estimated letter grade.

GPA Calculator โ€” FAQs

Is this GPA calculator free?

Yes, completely free with no signup and no limits. Calculate your semester GPA as often as you like, and everything runs privately in your own browser โ€” your grades are never uploaded or stored anywhere.

How is the weighted GPA calculated?

Each grade is converted to grade points on the 4.0 scale, multiplied by the course's credit hours, and all of these are added up. That total is then divided by the total credit hours. Courses with more credits therefore pull the GPA more strongly toward their grade.

Which grading scale does it use?

It uses the standard 4.0 scale where A equals 4.0, B equals 3.0, C equals 2.0, D equals 1.0 and F equals 0, with plus and minus steps in between. If your university uses a different scale, treat the result as an estimate.

Can I calculate GPA for courses from different semesters?

Yes. Just keep adding rows for every course, no matter which semester they belong to, and the tool will compute the combined cumulative GPA across all of them, weighted by each course's credit hours automatically.
