Fuel Cost Calculator โ€” FAQs

Is this fuel cost calculator free?

Yes, completely free with no signup and no limits. Plan as many trips as you like, and everything runs privately in your own browser, so your travel details are never uploaded anywhere or saved on a server.

How do I find my vehicle's mileage?

Fill the tank completely, reset your trip meter, drive normally until the next fill-up, then divide the kilometres driven by the litres added. Repeat a few times and average the results for a realistic figure that includes your driving style and traffic.

Does it include tolls or a return journey?

No, the calculator covers fuel only, one way. For a round trip, simply double the distance before calculating, and add toll taxes, parking and food costs separately to get the full and accurate journey budget.

Why is my real fuel cost higher than the estimate?

Real driving rarely matches ideal mileage: traffic jams, air conditioning, heavy loads, old tyres and aggressive acceleration all burn extra fuel. Add a 10 to 15 percent margin to the estimate for a safer trip budget.
