Base64 to Image โ FAQs
Is this base64 decoder free?
Yes, completely free with no signup and no limits. Decode as many base64 strings as you like, of any length. The decoding happens entirely in your browser, so there are no queues, no watermarks and no fees.
Do I need the data: prefix?
No. Paste the raw base64 characters or the full data URL โ the tool detects common image types (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP) from their first characters and adds the right prefix automatically when it is missing.
Is my pasted data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is decoded locally in your browser and the image is drawn on a canvas on your device. Nothing is sent to any server or stored anywhere, so even confidential image data stays fully private.
Why does it say my base64 is invalid?
Usually the pasted text was cut off, contains spaces or line breaks in the wrong place, or is not image data at all. Make sure you copied the complete string. The tool ignores whitespace, but a truncated string cannot be decoded.
