Average Calculator

Paste any list of numbers โ€” comma or newline separated โ€” and instantly get the mean, median, minimum, maximum and count.

Finding the average of a long list by hand is slow and error-prone, whether the numbers are exam marks, shop sales or survey responses. This free average calculator accepts numbers separated by commas, spaces or new lines, then instantly reports the mean, median, minimum, maximum and total count, ignoring blank entries and flagging anything it could not read.

Paste or type your numbers above, then press Calculate Statistics.

Average Calculator โ€” FAQs

Is this average calculator free?

Yes, completely free with no signup and no limits. Analyse as many number lists as you like โ€” marks, sales figures, measurements โ€” and everything runs privately in your own browser, with nothing ever uploaded.

What is the difference between mean and median?

The mean is the total divided by the count, while the median is the middle value when the numbers are sorted. The median is more useful when a few very large or small values would distort the mean, such as in income data with extreme outliers.

What separators can I use between numbers?

Commas, spaces, tabs, new lines and semicolons all work, and you can mix them freely. Blank entries are ignored, and anything that is not a valid number is counted and reported so you know nothing was silently dropped.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. All statistics are computed in your web browser with JavaScript on your device. Your numbers never leave your device, are never uploaded to a server, and are never stored anywhere at all, on any computer but yours.
